Hertfordshire Macmillan community link worker service provides free personalised non-medical support to anyone affected by cancer living in Hertfordshire. We understand that knowing where to turn for support isn’t always easy. That’s why Macmillan community link workers are here to help you get the right support at the right time. From the moment of your diagnosis, Macmillan community link workers can answer questions, make referrals and help you, your family or carers to access information. We provide: Proactive support and information for patients and their carers from diagnosis and beyond; Support to build personal resilience and confidence to self-manage; Links to community support services and local activities. How to get support? You may be contacted directly by one of our Link Workers for a wellbeing call. Alternatively, you can ask your GP or a member of your hospital team to refer you to the service. You can also self-refer to the service. Support will be tailored to your preference, either face to face, home visit or via the telephone.
